They are putting my mom on Seroquel to try to stop the delusions and paranoia that she has been having. I'm not sure how I feel about that. But I guess I'm willing to try almost anything at this point. They also took some blood samples to make sure that they (once again) weren't missing anything. I'll keep you posted, of course. DH has been unbelievable, for the most part, helping, being supportive, and last night when we went to the grocery store, he didn't whine or complain at all when I didn't want to buy candy or ice cream....he just said "ok". That's a big one for him, really. He's really been trying hard. And I can't imagine what would be going on if he was unstable right now. I'd probably become mentally unstable myself.

I am on 50mg of seroquel for bipolar. It has helped me a great deal.I have experienced no side effects.I hope all goes well.
Yep, I take it too, a very low dose just to help me sleep. Seroquel is an anti-psychotic so it is often given to people with delusions.
Seroquel can be used for many different things - as they do with a lot of medications.
I hope and pray for your moms sake and yours that this can/will help her.
Good to hear dh is able to be helpful in his own way - whatever that might be - even if it is just to 'not' be demanding and soforth.
Long tough road. You'll be stronger in the end!
CDQ was on seroquel after her insurance denied her resperdral for RAD. It didn't work but she's not bipolar either. Come to think of it...she's not RAD either. I dropped seroquel and now the kids take nothing.
I hope it works for your Mom and that is terrific that dh is stepping up!
Hi Carol
Thanks for cluing me in about your blog. It's great. Reading your old post I see, we do (or our husbands anyway) do have a lot in common.
I am so sorry about your mom. I am glad that your hubby is able to stay somewhat normal during this time you need him. I will keep you and your mom (and your hubby) in my prayers.
You take Care
I'll be checking back in on you
Accolades for DH. I am so glad that he can be there for you.
Am sorry that this is happening to you, and will pray for you and your mom.
Seroquil is what they are trying right now, maybe just try to trust that they know what they are doing. I really hope that all goes well and that she recovers enough for you to enjoy a little more time with her.
Thinking of you, I stumbled by.
Wishing you well and you family too.
♥♥♥
Wishing you some peace and quiet this week.
